One of the major goals of IAASW is to impact the SDA Church by providing resources to the church to meet the social needs of pastors and members alike. To assist in meeting this goal, your IAASW is beginning the process of setting up a social work speaker’s bureau and resource center. We know that social workers have much to offer our church at every level. Our training uniquely prepares us to make a difference in our churches. I am certain that many of us have already contributed to our churches by making presentations, developing handouts, etc. on various topics such as domestic violence, abuse, addiction, relationships and so forth. What we want to do is gather a list of social workers who are willing to speak on various topics and make it available to the church on our website. Likewise, the materials that we have developed, we would like to make available to the church via the same venue.
